Ported CS:GO/CS2 Skins
: High-definition ports of modern weapon finishes for the classic 1.6 engine.
- Download the Skin: Find a
.mdlor a folder containing.bmp/.tgafiles. (Note: Many modern "CS 1.6" skin packs come as auto-installers). - Locate your
cstrikefolder: Usually found inSteam/steamapps/common/Half-Life/cstrike. - Navigate to
models: Go intocstrike/models/. - Find
m249.mdl: Back up the original file first (rename it tom249_original.mdl). - Replace: Paste the new
.mdlfile (or the folder containing the new texture files) into the directory. If the skin comes with a.sprfile (for the HUD icon), place that incstrike/sprites/.
