- Connect your external hard drive that contains your Macrium Reflect backup images (
.mrimgor.mrbakfiles). - In Macrium Reflect, click the Restore tab.
- Click Browse for an image file and navigate to your external drive. Select the backup you want to restore.
- Click Restore Image.
- Select the destination drive (e.g., your new SSD or repaired internal HDD). Crucial: If you are restoring a disk image, select the entire disk, not just partition C:.
- Click Next. Review the summary. If you are restoring to a new drive that is smaller or larger, check the "Shrink or extend to fill the target disk" box.
- Click Finish and confirm. The restore process will begin. This usually takes 10–30 minutes depending on the backup size.
- Once complete, shut down, remove the USB drive, and restart. Your PC should boot back into Windows exactly as it was on the backup date.
