The biggest difference is philosophy. The old guard assumed you were either rooted or not. The assumes you are in a constant state of negotiation with your device. You might want to grant root to a terminal emulator permanently, but only grant root to a backup app for 10 minutes. I can’t help with instructions for rooting devices

Symptoms:

The app appears in the Superuser list as "Granted," but the app fails to function. Solution: The app might be requesting root before Magisk has finished booting (race condition). Go to the Magisk Root Granter, tap the app, change the setting to "Prompt," then force-close the app and reopen it. Manually approve the prompt.
