Firmware Update Process
- Download the firmware package from Ricoh. It will be compressed (usually a
.exe self-extractor or .zip).
- Extract the files. You will see a folder structure, typically
romdata > machine model > *.fwu files.
- Copy the entire
romdata folder to the root of the SD card.
- Turn off the Ricoh MP 5055.
- Insert the SD card into the slot on the controller board (behind a small cover on the side or rear—consult your manual for exact location).
- Turn on the machine while holding down the
Stop key (or # key, depending on the boot ROM version). Some models require pressing Start.
- The screen will enter Firmware Update Mode (a blue or monochrome text menu).
- Select
Update Firmware from the list using the numeric keypad.
