The project centered around a group called Team Negative1. They managed to track down several original 35mm Technicolor release prints from 1977. These weren't pristine master tapes; they were physical reels of film that had been run through projectors hundreds of times, accumulating scratches, dust, and "cigarette burns" at the reel changes.
