Even with good instruction, students struggle with Tarkib Adadi. Here are the three most common errors:

Composing 100

  • Ahada ‘ashara rajulan (eleven men): ahad (masc.) with rajul (masc.) – normal? No: For 3–10, normal would be feminine unit for masc. noun. Here, it's inverted logic.
  • Ihdā ‘ashrata imra’atan (eleven women): ihdā (fem.) with imra’a (fem.) – again inverted relative to simple numbers.

Mistake 3: Rushing to 20 Before Mastering 10
