The utility allows you to share a standard USB printer across your local network by connecting it directly to your TP-Link router's USB port. This guide covers the setup for the TP-Link USB Printer Controller Setup.exe on Windows systems. 1. Pre-Setup Requirements Before installing the utility, ensure the following:
Pre-Installation
: Install the printer's native drivers directly on your computer first. Some users recommend plugging the printer into the PC via USB once to ensure it's recognized before moving it to the router.
- Check Your Wireless Network Connection: Ensure that your wireless network connection is stable and working correctly.
- Restart Your Devices: Restart your TP-Link USB Printer Controller, printer, and computer to resolve any connectivity issues.
- Update Your Firmware: Ensure that your TP-Link USB Printer Controller's firmware is up-to-date.
- Select the TP-Link device and click to install the network printer driver. The controller may automatically add a local “TP-Link USB Printer” port and install printer drivers. If prompted, point to the specific printer driver files or choose from Windows’ driver list.
- Auto: Connects every time the PC boots.
- Manual: Only connects when you need to print.
: Ensure the printer's own drivers are already installed on your PC before using the TP-Link utility. Status Offline : Check your router's web management page to ensure the Print Server Status is "Online". Compatibility
