Draft text — Unable to find ETABS 18 license

  • Disable automatic driver updates via Group Policy (Windows Pro) or registry.
  • Eject the dongle safely via "Safely Remove Hardware" – never yank it out.
  • Keep a backup license file (Licenses.conf) on a cloud drive.
  • Schedule a monthly restart of the Sentinel LDK License Manager service (Services.msc > hasplms > Restart).
  • Do not install ETABS 18 alongside ETABS 2016 or SAP2000 v14 – older versions use conflicting HASP drivers (Aladdin vs. Sentinel).

4.2 Verify License File (lservrc or .lic)

  1. Close ETABS.
  2. Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Computers and Structures\ETABS 18\Licenses\
  3. Delete Licenses.conf (or rename it to Licenses.old).
  4. Restart ETABS. It will attempt to rediscover the license automatically.
