Third-party "clone" cables often try to emulate genuine Ross-Tech hardware. If you connect a clone cable to genuine VCDS software (or vice versa), the software can detect the clone and intentionally "brick" (disable) the cable's firmware. This renders the tool useless. vcds 20.12 download
